I'd love to say I photographed this guy in the wild, but he's in captivity. The poor bird had been shot (completely illegal), but was rescued back to health by a non-profit group in Juneau. He has permanent physical and mental damage, so he can never fly or survive on his own. Now he spends his time educating visitors.

The chunks made a thundering boom when they hit the water.

The White Pass & Yukon Railroad is a narrow gauge train that was used to carry gold miners and supplies from Skagway into the mountains. The views from the train are spectacular.
